Project Manager, Regional Risk Management

Our client is a expanding Financial Institution with a solid focus in developing the Asia markets across traditional, online and innovative platforms and channels for the Insurance and Pension businesses. As part of strategic growth, the group is seeking a high-calibre Project Manager with Risk Management and Compliance experience to drive the Regional delivery of a new Risk and Compliance project.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Provide support to the Regional Risk & Compliance Program Director in the delivery of a global strategic project focusing on the enhancement of regulatory compliance and operational risk framework, system and infrastructure across Asia.
  • Take a lead in the delivery and implementation of the new global Risk & Compliance system.
  • End-to-end project management including progress tracking and reporting, identifying issues and resolving them, project status updates, planning and analysis.
  • Ensure project is on track, requirements are clear whilst addressing process and resource efficiencies issues and come up with strategic solutions.
  • Provide technical oversight on the project, detailed analysis on the project plan, revise and make changes where appropriate to assist with the execution.
  • Work closely with all Risk Management functions and Compliance teams to ensure proper management of projects workstreams.
  • Provide consultative advice and impact evaluations to the Businesses, Support Functions, Risk and Compliance and meeting the program standards while identify opportunities to influence best practices.
  • As the Asia coordinator, liaise closely with the Head Office, internal stakeholders and project team members and external vendors.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified ideally with relevant professional qualifications such as risk management, audit, project management.
  • Minimum 7 – 10 years relevant experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Risk Assurance, Risk Advisory, Compliance and / or Internal Control gained from the Financial Services sector or Specialist Consulting firms focusing on Financial Services.
  • Strong Project Management skills with experience in delivering sizeable / complex regional projects.
  • Solid Operational Risk Management Framework knowledge.
  • Experience from Insurance sector is NOT a must.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
