VP, Group Enterprise Risk Management

Our client is a fast-expanding Financial Institution with a solid focus in developing the Asia Financial Markets businesses. As part of strategic growth, the group is seeking a high-calibre Risk Management professional to join the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, based in Hong Kong.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Assist the Group Leader in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in developing and implementing the Enterprise Risk Management framework for the Group and subsidiaries.
  • Supervise team members in performing risk assessments, risk management due diligence and KRI monitoring.
  • Design, evaluate, develop and implement ERM policies, risk initiatives, processes and procedures for the region as well as providing expertise on risk management advice.
  • Develop and implement risk models, methodologies and systems and monitor the risk governance framework.
  • Perform annual reviews on risk appetite and tolerances with the risk owners, 1st line businesses and functions.
  • Provide support on risk reporting, perform deep dive analysis and report on trends, impacts and risk issues.
  • Draft risk reports and presentation materials for regional risk committee and management meetings
  • Work closely with the business and 1st line risk owners teams and units on implementing and compliance with group standards, risk framework and regulatory requirements, running and facilitating risk management trainings.
  • Assist the 1st line teams in implementing risk management responsibilities, setting risk management strategies, KRIs, risk identification and reporting requirements as well as advising them on risk scenario analysis and stress testing.
  • Assist on ad-hoc request and regional projects and new products from the enterprise risk management perspectives.
  • Promote risk awareness and best practices across the local and regional teams.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified ideally with relevant professional qualifications in risk management, audit, finance, accounting.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Risk Assurance, Risk Advisory and / or Internal Control gained from the Financial Services sector.
  • Excellent writing skills with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in risk assessment, risk identification, risk monitoring processes.
  • Experience of regulations applicable to the financial services sector and engagement with regulators.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English AND Cantonese or Mandarin.
