Our client is a well-established household brand in the Life Insurance & Asset Management industry. With increasing business activities and a solid growth plan in place for Hong Kong, the Group is now seeking a high-calibre Financial Risk Management professional to join the Country Risk Management function focusing on the Investment Risk for the Hong Kong business.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Be part of the Hong Kong Country Financial Risk Management team responsible for Investment Risk Management.
  • Coverage includes credit risk, investment liquidity, fund risk, counterparty credit risk, asset price, equity price, interest rate, FX rate risk management.
  • Assist in developing, implementing an effective Financial Risk management framework, processes and controls whilst ensuring alignment to financial risk appetite and business strategy.
  • Advise on capital strategy and deployment as well as strategic / investment decisions from financial risk aspects.
  • Work with the 1st line teams to identify, quantify, mitigate and escalate investment risk and other financial risks.
  • Challenge risk models where appropriate and the 1st line of defence on investment portfolio proposals from 2nd Line risk management perspectives.
  • Actively drive and participate in the development and implementation of risk management transformations related to Capital Risk, ERM and ORSA initiatives.
  • Assist in periodic risk reporting submissions to risk committees and management.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • University degree holder and ideally with CFA, CAIA or other risk management certifications.
  • Min. 5 years relevant experience in Investment Risk Management, Financial Risk Management, Capital Risk Management gained from Asset Management, Insurance, Banking, Actuarial,Actuarial Consulting and / or Risk Management Consulting.
  • Good financial modelling skills and programming skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English, fluency in Cantonese and / or Mandarin preferred.
