Our client is a leading International Insurance Group with a solid focus in developing the Asia markets across traditional, online and innovative platforms and channels for the Insurance and Pension businesses. As part of strategic growth, the group is seeking a high-calibre Product Owner in the Insurance industry to join their Regional Digital Technology Insurtech Business Venture.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Be a lead in the Product Owner stream of the Regional Digital Technology & Transformation buildout and driving product strategy development / enhancement and execution for new and existing products.
  • Manage the project team to perform analysis and better understanding on current journeys, business process, solution architecture, obstacles and challenges, competitor analysis, user insights and design thinking.
  • Develop product visions and value propositions in line with the product strategy and innovation while regularly hold discussions with the wider teams and businesses for product approvals and support.
  • Create an end-to-end product roadmap from inception to production and delivery, lead teams consisting of a diverse range of workstreams in executing the product roadmap while deploying Agile approach where appropriate.
  • Take lead in the transformation work between existing and new product back-end and product configurations systems and platforms.
  • In charge of setting and communicating the product Objectives and Key Results as well as the product releases, planning and prioritization and user acceptance criteria of the product.
  • Coordinate with the wider Digital Transformation function on product development related initiatives, assisting the group in achieving the strategy and goals set.
  • As the Asia coordinator, liaise closely with the Head Office, internal stakeholders and team members and external vendors.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in digital products, product development / management, product configuration / systems / platforms gained from Insurance, Insurtech, specialist vendors and / or consultancies.
  • Experience in business analysis working with insurance technologies and back-end systems.
  • Familiar with product lifecycle.
  • Good knowledge of insurance products, operations, distribution and customer journeys.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple and diverse workstreams.
  • Familiar with Agile practices and DevOps would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with language fluency in English.
  • This position is open to overseas applicants interested to relocate to Hong Kong.
