Chief Financial Officer

Our client is a private equity backed manufacturing business who is a market leader in its field. The Group has experienced exponential growth with plans for further expansion across its key markets in Australia. Reporting to the CEO, this is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and motivated finance professional to lead the finance team based in Brisbane.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

• Lead and manage the overall finance function.
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of board reports, management reports, and year-end statutory accounts.
• Lead the strategic planning, forecasting, and budgeting process for the business.
• Oversee the financial performance of the business units, including setting and maintaining budgets and cost management.
• Design and implement well rounded accounting processes including the efficient and stringent collection of outstanding debt.
• Create structures for a cohesive and effective working relationship which sets a positive workplace culture and frameworks to meet operational and strategic outcomes for the Group.
• Manage and report on the company’s working capital requirements.
• Assess, measure, and make recommendations around new investment opportunities.
• Undertake detailed analysis across the business and provide concise recommendations to the leadership group.
• Liaise with the senior leadership team, board of directors, and other key stakeholders across the business.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

• CA/CPA qualified with strong finance experience in financial control and financial planning & analysis.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or an industrial business will be highly regarded.
• Experience in managing and developing a team.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to write concise management reports.
• Strong business acumen and commercial mindset.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment (cross-functional and within the finance team).
• Able to interface with operations and external business partners.
• Proactive attitude and engage with the business at all levels.
• Hands-on with the ability to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
• History of building relationships across the business.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
