Our client is an Investment Management arm of a well-established financial institution with solid financial performance. As part of continued growth, an excellent leadership role has arisen for an experienced Investment Management Operations Leader to join the firm, leading a team, based in Hong Kong.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Report to the Head of Investments and lead a team responsible for middle to back office, finance, operations, support and administration of the business.
  • Oversee Investment related operations activities including portfolio administration and management, performance reporting, valuation reconciliation, liquidity management, investment compliance and regulatory monitoring.
  • Ensure accounting and investment financials are accurately reported, coordinate on audits and perform financial planning and analysis, budget and management reporting.
  • Work with legal and investment teams on investment structure, agreement and contract negotiations.
  • Drive operational efficiency initiatives and improvement projects.
  • Assist in investment compliance and regulatory reporting and Tax matters.
  • Be the lead in managing external relationships with counterparties and vendors such as custodians, fund administrators, trustees, IT vendors, external auditors.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree graduate with minimum 15 to 20 years relevant experience in Operations, Fund Services / Administration or COO capacity.
  • Industry experience from International Asset Management Firms, Endowment Fund, Asset Owner, Pension Fund, Investment Unit of Insurance firms or Large Corporates, Asset Servicing / Fund Services Providers.
  • Solid all-rounded COO skills across Investment Operations, Middle Office, Fund Accounting, Fund Administration, Finance, Facilities Management, COO office and support functions.
  • Ideally with exposure to Alternative Investments, Private Equity, Hedge Funds and / or Fund of Funds and broader experience across a diverse range of asset classes.
  • Must have experience from and familiar with large international institutional environment / operations.
  • Proven experience in team management / leadership roles.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
