Head of IT Audit, Large Conglomerate

Our client is a leading Conglomerate Group with diversified businesses across hospitality, construction, entertainment, retail and sports. The internal audit function of this Group is known for their established structure and quality of work in the industry. Due to significant investments and advancement in technology being developed in the Group, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technology Audit Leader to revamp and develop new approaches in IT audit, methodologies and framework for the Hong Kong and China businesses. The role is based in Hong Kong, open to relocate applicants from overseas.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Report to and lead the technology audit management, technology projects audit and integrated audit engagements primarily for Hong Kong and China.
  • Review, redesign, develop new audit approaches, methodologies and framework for technology audits, especially for emerging technology domains and technology projects.
  • Plan and manage the team on the delivery of a diverse portfolio of technology audits including Application, Infrastructure, IT Security, Cyber Security, Cloud, Digital etc.
  • Lead a team of experienced auditors and be responsible for coaching, performance management and professional development.
  • Lead annual audit planning, resources scheduling, review risk based audit plans in alignment with business strategy.
  • Provide professional risk management, continuous risk assessment of the technology audits, risk and control analysis, thematic reviews, special projects and oversee issues arisen from application development projects.
  • Discuss audit reporting and findings, manage appropriate response on issues raised and ensure post audit reviews are conducted.
  • As a senior leader of the audit function, you will work closely with the business audit leaders and assist in managing administrative and operational matters within the audit department whilst representing the function in the wider company.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • University degree with relevant professional qualifications, e.g. CISA, CISSP, CISM and / or CCSP.
  • Minimum 15 – 20 years experience gained from Technology Audit, additional experience in Technology Risk Management (1st or 2nd line), IT Security, Cyber Security, Technology Control and / or Technology Risk Consulting would be beneficial.
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as a senior team lead.
  • Industry experience from sizeable Financial Institutions, Banking, Insurance, Technology Firms, Large Conglomerates or MNCs.
  • Good understanding of Technology functions, operations and processes.
  • Ability in influencing and challenging senior management and building stakeholder relationships in Technology functions.
  • Experience in people coaching and development.
  • Strong intellectual, analytical and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting writing skills with fluency in English.
