Our client is a well-established Banking Group with solid business performance across its full range business services in Asia (Retail Banking, Private Banking, Corporate & Institutional Banking). As part of strategic growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Financial Reporting / Technical Accounting professional to join the Group Finance function in Hong Kong.
The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Report to and support the Hong Kong Finance Leadership team in Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting and Accounting Treatment areas.
- Define financial reporting treatment and requirements, review of accounting standards, entries for new products, hedge accounting, technical accounting advisory.
- Provide support on periodic statutory reporting and group reporting.
- Regularly update accounting policies and advise on accounting treatment for new products.
- Act as an internal advisor on accounting and financial reporting matters to other departments as well as resolving accounting issues.
- Take a lead in identifying and implementing financial reporting process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of reporting process.
Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:
- University degree with professional accounting qualification.
- Around 7 - 10 years in Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting and / or Accounting Policy gained from Banking or Big 4 focusing on Financial Services sector.
- Familiar with HKFRS 9 and 16.
- Knowledge of IFRS / HKFRS and HKMA requirements.
- Knowledge of Group / Head Office reporting practices.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Cantonese or Mandarin.
