VP, Team Lead, Capital Markets Middle Office

Our Client is an International Banking Group with an established and growing presence in Asia. The Bank mainly engages in Corporate Banking, Institutional Banking, Transaction Banking and Global Markets business activities in Asia. Due to continuous growth in the Capital Markets business division, an excellent Team Leadership role has arisen for a Capital Markets Middle Office / Operations professional to join and lead the team, based in Hong Kong.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Report to the Head of Capital Markets Middle Office, you will be a team lead in managing a small regional team focusing on Transaction Reporting for APAC.
  • Manage and monitor daily exceptions and controls around the transaction reporting processes.
  • Provide support to front office Sales and Traders on trade issues and violations.
  • Working closely with the front office and management team and act as the liaison between the business, technology and other support functions.
  • Support the business on cross-region engagements, large-scale new business initiatives, regulatory changes, new transactions.
  • Responsible for the Transaction Reporting controls and governance enhancement work, issue management reporting, MI reporting.
  • Work with compliance and legal teams on regulatory changes and rules interpretations.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified with 8-10 years in Capital markets Middle Office, Operations, Front Office Support.
  • Less experienced applicants would be considered at AVP non-team lead level.
  • Familiar with Transaction Reporting under HKMA and MAS regulations.
  • Experience gained from front office support, sales / trade support, business management, operational control and reporting would also be considered.
  • Familiar with Capital Markets products, transactions and environment including OTC derivatives, Equities, Fixed Income, DCM / ECM.
  • Leadership experience would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in Excel and VBA.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
