Our client is a Leading Regional Bank with diversified businesses in Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Corporate & Institutional Banking and Wealth Management. As part of continuous growth, the group is seeking a high-calibre Financial Reporting professional to join and lead a team in Group Reporting function, based in Hong Kong.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Reporting to the Head of Financial Control and lead a team in Group Financial Reporting responsible for Head Office reporting, statutory reporting, month-end closing and periodic Group’s results reporting across revenue, business performance, costs / expenses, budget / forecast, accounting standards / IFRS reporting etc.
  • Supervise and review the team in preparing month-end financial closing and reporting, ledger reconciliations as well as to prepare and review monthly performance reports.
  • Ensure the financial results and all management reports are correctly compiled and provide analysis and explanation on material variances.
  • Apply technical accounting knowledge where required on reporting and accounting matters.
  • Work closely with other Finance, Tax and Audit teams on audit, tax and regulatory submissions matters.
  • Keep abreast of international and local regulatory / listing rules development and accounting treatment.
  • Act as support to systems and reporting related projects and change initiatives.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified with professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum 8+ years relevant experience in financial reporting, group reporting, head office reporting, month-end closing.
  • Minimum 2 years in a team supervisory role.
  • Less experienced applicants would be considered at Manager level.
  • Industry experience in Banking with understanding of HKMA rules and Hong Kong accounting standards.
  • Project management and accounting systems transformation experience would be advantageous but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Chinese.
