Our client is a well-established Asian Banking Group with solid business performance across its full range business services in Asia (Retail Banking, Private Banking, Corporate & Commercial Banking). As part of strategic growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance professional to assist the functional Head of Finance in Financial Reporting and Regulatory Reporting, based in Hong Kong.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

• Report to and support the Hong Kong Finance in controllership responsibilities across Financial Reporting, HKMA Regulatory Reporting, Accounting & Reporting systems.
• Provide oversight and monitoring of financial and regulatory reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to the relevant regulators in Hong Kong.
• Define regulatory and financial reporting treatment and requirements, ensure adherence to accounting policies and standards.
• Drive execution of regulatory reporting initiatives, new regulatory requests, enhancement of reporting platforms, strategic data sourcing, implementation of consistent change management and governance processes, implementation of strategic initiatives.
• Ensure compliance on financial disclosure requirements, listing rules, HKFRS / IFRS, capital rules and liquidity rules.
• Oversee the compilation of statutory reports, annual reports, tax reports and various other group reporting.
• Ensure data integrity and quality, adherence to internal controls and policies, proper control checking, review and reconciliation procedures are in place.
• Assist in team development and management of resources across the organization to maximize effectiveness of the team.
• Take a lead in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of reporting process.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

• University degree with professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum 15 years relevant experience in financial reporting, regulatory reporting, financial control, finance process transformation.
• Knowledge of IFRS / HKFRS and HKMA regulatory requirements.
• Industry experience from Banking is a must.
• Experience in process improvement and system implementation work.
• Team supervision / management and Asia working experience are a must.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Cantonese.
