Our client is a leading Insurance Group with a strong history across the Asia Pacific region in the Life Insurance space. The internal audit function of this Group is known for their well-established structure and framework in the industry and as part of growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Internal Audit professional to join as Regional Audit Director, leading the Actuarial Audit team, based in Hong Kong.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

• Report to the Asia Head of Audit, managing a team of experienced Actuarial Auditors covering audit engagements across the Asia region.
• Manage the delivery of a large portfolio of audits within Actuarial areas, ensuring assignments are delivered to time, quality and budget.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for Group-wide Actuarial and Financial Risks topics related to the business and / or regulatory issues.
• Lead audit planning processes, review audit reports and documentation whilst lead and / or execute planned audits, special investigations and assignments.
• Discuss audit reporting and findings, manage appropriate response on issues raised and ensure post audit reviews are conducted.
• Identify and highlight risk areas for management attention and ensures comprehensiveness of the Internal Audit’s Risk Assessment.
• Provide professional risk management and control views and drive ongoing development of the internal control processes, audit framework and methods.
• Assist in the development of data analytics strategy for internal audit.
• Lead a team of experienced auditors in the region and be responsible for coaching, performance management and professional development.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

• University degree ideally a qualified actuary.
• Minimum 15 years of life insurance actuarial experience with some external audit / internal audit, risk management, actuarial consulting experience gained from sizeable international insurance firms.
• Relevant Actuarial Services, Consulting, Audit, Risk Management experience from Big 4 or Actuarial Consultancies would also be considered.
• Ability in influencing and challenging senior management and building stakeholder relationships.
• Experience in people leading, coaching and development.
• Strong intellectual, analytical and project management skills.
• Team spirit, proactive and committed working style.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in English.
