Audit Director (Function Lead), Well-Established Conglomerate

Our client is a well-established Conglomerate Group with diversify businesses. As part of strategic growth and transformation, a newly created leadership role has arisen for an experienced Internal Audit professional to lead a team focusing on various functions / business lines of the Group in Hong Kong.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Lead a team of Internal Auditors and report to the Group Head of Audit.
  • Manage the audit portfolio across Real Estate / Property, Infrastructure Development, Projects / Programmes divisions as well as other support functions including Finance, Legal and Compliance.
  • Conduct annual audit planning, resources scheduling, review risk-based audit plans in alignment with group strategy.
  • Lead the team to perform independent assessment and monitoring of the group’s practices, controls, business conduct, provide evaluation of governance, risk management control effectiveness and adequacy.
  • Perform independent assessment of project governance, risk management and control processes as major projects and strategic programs of the Group are significant focuses for the team.
  • Discuss audit reporting and findings, manage appropriate response on issues raised and ensure post audit reviews are conducted.
  • Keep abreast of audit and risk management techniques, methodologies and tools and contribute to the team’s knowledge-building on new learnings and review / update audit standards and guidelines.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified ideally with relevant professional qualifications, e.g. CPA, CA, CISA, CISSP, etc.
  • Around 15 - 20 years experience in Audit gained from Big 4 and / or commercial industries in Real Estate, Property Developer, Infrastructure, Construction, Engineering, MNC / Conglomerates with diversified businesses.
  • Familiarity to Project Audit Methodology including Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management.
  • Experience in Project Audit in large engineering, property or infrastructure projects would be preferred and broad exposure across financial, operational and IT audits.
  • Proven people management / leadership skills gained from a sizeable organization.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English, additional language skills in Cantonese or Mandarin would be advantageous.
